JDI Duplex Mk4 Stereo Direct Box Stereo direct box for high-output digital sources Jensen transformers for warm Bessel curve Virtually zero distortion from 10Hz to 80kHz Stereo-to-mono merge (Y-mix) on each channel Built tough to handle the extremes The Radial JDI Duplex Mk4 is a full-featured passive DI designed to enhance connectivity for the touring professional and AV integrator. The Duplex comes equipped with 1/4" connectors for -10dB consumer electronics and XLR inputs for +4dB professional line sources. Each Duplex channel employs the same high-performance Jensen audio transformer as the industry standard Radial JDI direct box and has the same pristine audio signal path with virtually zero phase, harmonic and linear distortion. Natural transformer saturation and warm Bessel curve makes the Radial Duplex the perfect choice for rounding out highly dynamic instruments, like digital keyboards, that can sound harsh when driven hard. Transformer isolation also provides the benefit of eliminating troublesome ground loops that can cause hum and buzz and can interfere with video displays. Radial's innovative 'book-end' design provides protective zones that shield connectors and switches from the abuses of professional touring . A welded I-beam inner frame is designed to eliminate outside stresses that could torque the PC board and cause premature solder point and trace failure. A 14-gauge steel shell couples with the mu-metal transformer shield to eliminate stray magnetic field interference from power transformers and a full-bottom no-slip pad provides plenty of stay-put and helps reduce electrical coupling from amplifier chassis hardware. The Radial Duplex Mk4 is the worlds finest passive stereo direct box Duplex - with two stereo keyboards: Dual channels with 'thru' jacks means you can do twice as much with one DI. Plug one stereo keyboard into the left & right 1/4" Input jacks and the other keyboard into the 1/4" L & R 'thru' jacks. Press the 'Merge' switch on each channel. The channels are completely in dependant and each have their own XLR out, -15dB pad switch and hi-cut filter. You can also use the left and right RCA jacks to send a stereo signal to an amp or monitor mixer. Talk about versatile! In this setup: Keyboard-1 connects to 1/4" input jacks Keyboard-2 connects to 1/4" thru jacks Engage the 'Merge' function for both channels Left and right XLR DI outputs go to mixer/recorder or PA Duplex - with stereo iPod: Interface stereo consumer audio gear, such as an iPod, directly into +4dB balanced audio gear be it mixing console, recorder, broadcast or PA system. The -15dB pad can be switched in to tame hot input signals. If you want, you can plug in headphones to the 'Thru' jacks to monitor the input-tip: use the 'XLR In Select' switches to interrupt the XLR OUT signal so you can privately monitor the iPod! In this setup: iPod plugs into RCA or 1/4" jacks using the appropriate cable Headphones plug in to RCA or 1/4" 'Thru' jacks with appropriate cable Engage the pad if the device if required to avoid overloading the mixer Connect each balanced XLR output to two (panned) mixer channel Duplex - swap +4Db XLR or RCA inputs: The Duplex also has balanced line inputs! In this scenario, a mixer's balanced stereo output is plugged straight into the Duplex two -20dB padded XLR-F inputs. A computer or other stereo source can be input to the Duplex via the left and right RCA or 1/4" inputs. Use the Duplex's -15dB pad switches if necessary here. Now just use the 'XLR select' switches on the Duplex to select either the low level or XLR line level input. In this setup: Low-Z line level from mixer, DJ gear etc. connects via XLR-in Computer stereo audio connects to the Duplex's RCA or 1/4" inputs Switch between low or -20dB padded line level input with 'XLR Sele
