The Crown® PZM®-11LLWR is a weather resistantPressure Zone Microphone®with a balanced, line-level output. A plasticmembrane inside the microphone protects themic capsule from water damage. The mic mountsin a standard electrical outlet box. Applicationsinclude fast-food restaurants, outdoor intercoms, toll booths, bridges, theme park security, homeautomation, and so on.
The microphone can be plugged directly into aVCR line input - no costly mic preamp is needed.Output (via screw terminals) can be balanced orunbalanced. Powering is by 12-24V AC or DC.
In the PZM-11LLWR, frequencies below the voicerange are rolled off to reduce traffic rumble. Thehigh-frequency response is boosted to help articulation.Because of its tailored response andPZM construction, the PZM-11LLWR will pick upconversations or other desired sounds with extraclarity.
The unit is "weather resistant," which means:
The microphone will work during and afterrainfall. The mic's frequency response will change temporarilyif the membrane gets wet, but will return tonormal when dry. If water freezes on the membrane, the mic'sfrequency response will change, but will returnto normal when the ice melts and the membranedries. High-pressure water sprays directly on themembrane (through the louvered wall plate) maydamage the membrane. The microphone is not designed to be submerged.
