The Audio-Technica AT8531 is an in-line body-pack power supply for AT series gooseneck and overhead microphones. The unit is designed to supply 9 - 52V phantom power and uses AA batteries. A low frequency roll-off switch is provided and minimizes structure and wind noise and a belt clip provides added stability. The unit features a TB3-male input and standard 3-pin XLR-male output connector.
This power module provides several important functions. First, it converts the 11 - 52V DC phantom power into a smaller DC bias voltage used to power the FET impedance matching circuit inside the microphones listed below. Also, it provides low frequency roll off, supplies battery power if phantom power is not available, converts the signal to the proper impedance and balances the output. The power module is a necessary component when using any of the mics listed.
This power module is for the Audio Technica AT803b, AT831b, ATM73a, ATM75, U841A, U851A, U853A(W), U853A(W)U and U857A(W)U microphones.
